General and Life Science options
The Division of Science at 宾州州立银行 offers baccalaureate degree programs in both Science and 运动机能学. The Science program is designed for students who want a broad 教育 in either General or Life Science. This major is intended to prepare students for positions in industry and government and to provide a foundation for graduate and professional study. The 运动机能学 program offers students an academic background in the science of human movement and applied, practical experience in health assessment, exercise physiology, motor skill development, stress management, 营养, and healthy living skills.
Students in the Science program have direct access to a range of career development opportunities, including collaborative design of undergraduate research projects with the science faculty, or placement within the Cooperative Educational Program that is administered by the Eberly College of Science at Penn State University Park campus.
At 宾州州立银行, students can earn one of two degrees within the Science major: a baccalaureate degree 在科学 with a General Science option, or a baccalaureate degree 在科学 with a Life Science option. These options are intended for students who want a high degree of flexibility in their curriculum.
General Science Option
Prepares students for technical and sales positions in industries such as the chemical field and for technical positions in university or governmental research laboratories.
Life Science Option
Prepares students for technical and sales positions in life science-related industries such as the agricultural, biotechnological/pharmaceutical, or the healthcare field, or for technical positions in university or governmental research laboratories. The Life Science Option also prepares students for professional schools such as medical, 牙科, 脊椎按摩疗法, 或兽医.
For the BS degree in science, a minimum of 124 credits is required with at least 15 credits at the 400-level. After completing foundation courses in calculus, chemistry, physics, and the life sciences, students
select additional science courses from designated areas. A large number of supporting credits permit students to readily include a minor in business, computer and information science, 教育, kinesiology, or other fields.
